Government Radically Changes Gas Predictions
After predicting that Midwesterners would pay about 17 percent more to heat their homes with natural gas this winter, the federal Energy Information Administration (EIA) now says we could be paying a bit less compared with last year. But with gas prices still over last year’s levels, that doesn’t mean our headaches are over, as The Southern Illinoisan and Chicago Tribune report. 'This Will Save Me Some Dough,' Says CUB Clinic-goer

Outreach Director Sarah Moskowitz gives money-saving advice at CUB's Crystal Lake clinic, where 92 consumers cut their phone bills by an average of $21 a month.
Almost 120 people attended CUB’s back-to-back phone bill clinics in Chicago and Crystal Lake last week, with the average consumer saving $310 and $248 a year respectively. “This will save me some dough,” said 83-year-old Ralph Statter of Crystal Lake. You can save too. CUB’s event calendar is loaded with cost-cutting events.
